MyAbsolute is shaking up the world of property maintenance, we’re trying to disrupt the ‘norm’ that many have come to expect of contractors. We’re all about people and culture, and this can be seen no more so than through our commitment to ‘growing our own’ and nurturing the next generation of contractor. As well as our two full-time apprentices, we’ve partnered with Middlesbrough College to provide work-based placements to three T-Level students (one day per week) as well as taking a cohort of three workplace experience students (four days per week).
This might not sound like anything new and typical for big national employers, but for a small local company this can involve a significant amount of administration, time and disruption to the team delivering projects day in, day out. We passionately believe there are great future engineers out there, in our own communities who just need to see that it can be a great, challenging and rewarding place to work, and we’ve already seen great success in hand-picking the shining stars, some of whom are now returning to work with us between studies and planning to move to a full-time apprenticeship with us following their current course completion.
Victoria Mullen, from the college said “Their support to our students at Middlesbrough College is invaluable. I’m very privileged to be partnering with them on our work experience and TLevel programmes” which is great recognition that partnering with local academic leaders can be both time-saving and rewarding for both business and students.
